Default FLHP Halogen Lights Through the Pursuit Switch?

Hi Folks,
I want to upgrade my auxiliary (driving) lights on my 2002 FLHP Road King Police. The old sealed beams were controlled by the Pursuit/Aux switch on the right handlebar. The switch sometimes had a delay in turning on with the sealed beams and after I fitted the Halogen lamps, it became really intermittent.
I took the switch assembly apart and found that if I pushed the switch down slightly, the Halogen lamps would light but if I pushed down completely, I would lose the connection.

Does this sound like a faulty switch finally dying or do the Halogen bulbs draw more current than the pursuit switch is designed to handle?

I am using the 68208-98A Clear Lens with Halogen Bulb Auxiliary Lamp Bulb Kit. The switch is a Harley DC-9 switch that comes stock on the police models.

Any experience or information is appreciated.

Thanks,
Garrman

Sounds like switch is almost dead. Swap switch.
