I recently recieved a 1975 ironhead sporster with electric start. It doesnt have a battery in it so i have no idea what to get. Any recommendations for a decently priced battery as well.

 

There are several manufacturers and it looks like they are available for around $100.

google returns a lot of discussions and solutions on this issue...I think you will find our answer if you look.

 

Look at a battery website, such as Deka, where you can enter details of your bike. That will give you the spec of the battery you require and with that you can compare other brands, on other websites if you wish. Buy an AGM type, which will give you high performance and good service life at a decent price.
