Default 1987 FLHTC turn signal issue

Does anyone know if it is possible to make the turn signals on a 1987 Electra Glide work like normal turn signals to where when you press the button the turn signals stay on until you cancel them? As I see it, unless there is something wrong with my electrical, you have to hold down the buttons to keep them energized to flash like a normal turn signal??? I appreciate any thoughts or suggestions!!!

You will need to get a Badlands turn signal controller or an updated controller off of a newer Harley, the Badlands is much easier.

I tried the Badlands module yesterday and we couldn't get it to work, gave up on it and unwired it. Spoke with Tyler at Badlands and he said you have to take out both of the factory turn signal flashers, I'll try it again and see what happens, thanks for the reply.

The sort of flasher unit you want wasn't introduced until 1989 IIRC. However as you now have a Badlands unit that should work for you.

Well, we tried it again, spoke with Tyler at Badlands again, pretty sure we had the issue figured out, still no luck. He said this is definitely the module I need and it will take over and make the turn signals function like newer style bikes. I'll take pictures and send them to Badlands and see if they can figure anything out from the pics.....
