Default Brass fitting in Switch Housing

So I am putting things back together, and ive run into a snag. There is a small 1/2 inch brass V shaped fitting that goes inside the switch housing. I screwed up and thought I could remember where it goes. Cant remember much at my age.... does anyone have any idea where this darn thing goes?:noidea:

Oh yes! I mentioned it in my hair-tearing-out thread on installing the fancy extended flasher buttons here. It is mentioned in the factory service manual, Section 6.35 in mine, there is even an illustration showing it in it's proper place! It goes behind the brake-light switch.
