Heated Harley Hammock Seat doesn't heat
So I bought this seat used and the seller claimed it was in like new condition and worked. I plugged it in and it doesn't heat up so I'm trying to figure out whether it's the seat or I'm doing something wrong. I plugged it into what I believe is the accessory plug in front of the battery. It's the only one I saw. I had the light from the luggage rack plugged into it (and it worked). I turned the accessory switch to "On" and it lights up green. What confuses me is, my luggage rack light works with out the accesory switch on and it works as a running and brake light. Everything I read said the accessory switch needs to be on for the seat to work. Is there suppose to be another plug in there somewhere? Anything else to check before assuming the seat is no good? Thanks

The plug for the accessory switch can be wired three different ways at the plug, 1. power with brakes only (red/yellow + Black -), 2. power all the time with the ignition switch on (orange/red + Black -), or 3. power on and off from the accessory switch with the ignition on (orange + Black -). Make sure how you're wired at the plug. If it is wired correctly for the application you want you may just need to give the seat time to warm up as they take a while.

Thanks for your input. I verified the wiring as you suggested and that there is 12+ volts across the pins that the seat harness is connecting to. The seat didn't heat up with the ignition on. I verfied resistance on the two pins in the seat harness so I assume the elements are good. The only thing else I know to do is check for amp draw at the P&A fuse. I attempted to by connecting the leads to the little metal nubs in the face of the fuse but didn't get anything. I pulled the fuse and put the leads on those nubs to check for continuity and it worked. I will figure out a better way to check the amps before concluding the seat isn't drawing any. I didn't have a chance to ride it to verify it could take a long time to heat up though.
*Update
Took it out for a ride and within 5 minutes I could feel it warming up. After about 10 minutes, it was toasting me buns...
