Guard Dawg with TSSM???
hey folks, brother in law bought a Guard Dawg FOB and installed it on his 2001 softail.... he bought the bike used in 2007, and it appears as though it came with the factory installed security, as we realized later it has a TSSM .... programmed the GD, but now the bike won't start....no spark anywhere....removed it, re-installed factory starter relay, still no spark
Did we do something to the TSSM and now it needs to be reprogrammed?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

The Guard Dawg system will not interfere with the factory system. If you have a factory security module the Guard Dawg system just adds a second layer of security.
The Guard Dawg system just replaces the starter relay with a "Smart" relay. It does not communicate with the factory security module at all. Swapping back to the original starter relay should put the bike back to it's original state without issues.
Just a heads up. Bikes without security have a Turn Signal Module (TSM). US market bikes with security have a Hands Free Security Module (HFSM). In Japan and Korea the HFSM is called a Turn Signal Security Module (TSSM).
TSM:
Controls Turn Signals
Serves as a bank angle sensor (signal auto cancel)
TSSM/HFSM:
Same functions as TSM
+Security and Immobilization functions
Also, TSM's and HFSM's look the same on the outside. How did you determine you have the factory installed security module?
Remember The red key light has two functions:
1. Security System Status
2. Diagnostic code Status.
The red key does not necessarily mean you have a security module. I would first start with checking fuses. If there ok, but the red key light is on, I would check to see what the error code is and go from there.

What, you think you have done something more stupid (sic) than us.
We took the time to reply, we deserve to be able to laugh with you, maybe we will tell some of our stupid stories.
