Selling a used gas tank for a Dyna Fat Bob FXDF in excellent condition. Color is denim black. I purchased it from another member a few days ago for my Street Bob only to find out that some parts on the tanks aren't interchangeable. The individual had a dent repaired in the tank and had it freshly sprayed in denim black. I hear these tanks go for around $1000 new from Harley, I'm asking $375 shipped.

 

Just curious, what parts are not interchangeable?

 

For a Street Bob, I'm certain that the top plate will not swap out. The tank is also about 1.5 inches wider. I've also been told that the dash and speedos may be different.

For a Wide Glide I believe the tanks are much more similar but I'm not sure. You would have to ask your dealer about that.

According to the 07 Dyna Parts Manual, the WG and FXDC take the same tank; the Lowrider and Street Bob share a tank, and the FXD tank is a third part number. All are -06 p/n's so the 07 and 06 interchange.

 

I had the same problem or still have i had an 08 street bob in need of a new tank and I bought one that was supposed to be the same, but instead I got one from a fatbob. i talked to my HD dealer and I was told the tank should fit just fine. I only had to buy a new top plate and gasket, I I also bought new screws. All of the parts run me 106 dlls and 300 for the tank, so not bad for a new tank on my streetbob for 406dlls
