Default I bent my front rim and have a question about spoke count

I try my best to avoid potholes but sometimes they pop out of nowhere.....with that said,...I hit a pothole and bent my spoked 19" front rim. The tire and tube are fine. I was wondering.....are 80 spoke rims any more resilient to potholes than 40 spoke rims?

I just hate the thought of changing the wheel only to hit another nasty pothole on the next ride.

Not sure, I would imaging that more spokes means more rigidity/stiffness. Also not sure it that would be a good or bad thing. Sorry.

On a side note, I have a stock 19" black hoop wheel off my Street Bob wrapped in a Metzler 880 with less the a 1k on it I'm not using anymore.

July 7th I hit a pot hole (more like a sinkhole). I bent my front rim (Fat Daddy 50 spoke rim), bent the back rim too. Also ruined both Metzeler tires. Make sure your tire is alright!
