Which Seat for More Leg Room?
I need a seat for my 2003 wide glide, I would like to get one that sits me back a little if possible, I've head that mustang seats do this? is that true?

I saw Harley's Tall Boy seats but they only fit 06 & newer..
so I guess my decision is between the mustang & the Saddlemen explorer with the back rests..prices are close so which should I go with?
thanks

Yes the Mustang seat will sit you back some. I first had the mustang touring seat on mine, and it put me back to far for my 30" inseam, too much of a stretch to reach the pegs. Thats why I went with the Saddlemen seat..it moved me closer to the pegs. They are both very comfortable seats, The mustang is a softer seat than the Saddleman explorer. Here is a pic of the mustang seat that was on mine (not a very good pic though)

Going in a different direction, you could always think about getting the 3" forward control extension. I went through this debate about a year ago now and realized that if I could extend my feet, I could still have the majority of the seat options (not limiting to the "tall boys" and similar) and I wouldn't have to pull my handlebars too far back to compensate for my sitting further back on the bike.
I bought the 3" extension kit on sale, and absolutely love it! Cheaper than a seat and still allows you to sit comfortably.

Yep, I just went with the Kuryakyn 3" extensions on my 2008 FXDF. I had similar thoughts as Jason, that is, extending my legs meant I had more seat options without having to worry about bringing my bars back.
That said, I'm going to try a Tallboy seat as well. I feel like I want to sit up a bit more, more on top of the bike. We'll see how that goes.
But the Kury extensions were a HUGE improvement. 37" inseam here.

I have an FLD and run a Tallboy. I'm 6' w/ 34" inseam. The seat lifts the rider 2" and moves the rider back 1 3/4". If you looking for more legroom, this will do it. It's also more comfortable in the quality of the foam and shape. It is big though. Not the most aesthetically pleasing, but with greater comfort in terms of ergo's (for me) and quality over stock.
My wife also has an FLD and she has a Sundowner solo. It lifts the rider 1" and rearward 1". I find it very comfortable as well. It also gives more legroom, but not as dramatically as the Tallboy. Also, better quality foam density and shape.
As a sidenote, through HD's seat demo program, I had also checked out the Sundowner dual. Unlike the Sundowner solo, this moves the rider forward 1+". Found it comfortable in terms of foam and shape, but it felt very cramped.
