Need help with Dead Creek Cycles Tank Lift
Just got the Dead Creek Cycles tank lift for my '14LR. Looks great but there's some issues for anyone wanting these. The coffin style didn't fit right(coudn't fully lock left to right/Wide part of coffin up). So I inverted them. Same issue. The problem is the adjustable risers. I could either do one of two things. Grind off the section of the lift that is touching or buy new risers. Has anyone with the '14LR change their risers? It looks like the risers are connected to the visor & that looks connected to the headlight.
Need help.

Imo, there is a little to much material that interferes with surrounding parts. The other option is the DK kit. Much less material. The only problem with DK is tightning the tank ear bolts. They are on the inside and are hard to reach. A thin wrench with a angled socket will work. This was the case on my softails.

LivetoRide05,
The least expensive route to go is to grind off the excess material on the plates you have so that they are a semi-circle on the top to match the tank ears.
This will probably still be strong enough and not break. Use some paint to cover where you ground it down to prevent rust.
The other option is to get a purpose made tank lift kit, you can see the options and details HERE.
As golfblues mentioned, the nuts are hidden and a bit difficult to tighten down...but still, it takes only 3-4 minutes with an open end wrench to do it, and then it's done.
Here's a vid that may be interesting-

BTW, I found something to cover the tank tunnel opening left by the rubber boot staying where it belongs. My local hardware store had a 12x12 sheet of rubber gasket material, 7 bucks, in the plumbing dept. It is almost an exact match to the boot in texture & thickness. I made a template from a piece of cardboard that fit under & around the boot lip at the bottom & up into the dash. I placed it over the gasket & cut it out. It looks like 1 piece again & covers the hole. A little 3m double stick tape on the edges & it's not going anywhere.
