It's standard equiptment for a superglide, all other dynas have it on the tank.

The bar mounted speedo is easier to read than the tank mounted speedo.

 

I just bought an '07 Super Glide and it does have the speedo mounted on the bars. I looked at a few softails and a Street Bob, but personally I do not like how the tank looks with the speedo mounted there. Is it just me, or does it seem a bit "bulky" on the tank to some of you others? I will admit the speedo on the bars is a lot easier to take a glance at going through traffic (Denver here), than looking down farther at the tank for my speed...but still there isn't much of a difference between the two locations when it comes down to it.

Personal preference makes the ultimate decision...

07 superglide... I could do without the speedo all together. that thing is just a distraction. I know i'm going too fast when i'm in 6th gear and the cars on the right look like they're standing still.

I share the feeling. I know that my bike is supposed to be "stripped" but I don't like the speedo on the tank. I would rather have it high on my bars where I can see it. I don't necessarily need to know how fast I am going, but being an idiot I require idiot lights.
