Thinking about putting a springer front end on my Dyna

RE: Thinking about putting a springer front end on my Dyna
Well, I tried to putspringer front forks on my FXDI Super Glide and the tank bolts kept the forks from turning more than a few degrees. Not enough to be drivable. I could have cut off the fork stops but I didn't want to mess up the looks of the forks. They were made by MID-USA. They wouldn't take them back even after they told me that they would fit my bike.

2 suggestions, 1 could you lower your bottom plate about 3/4 of an inch with a spacer and then use 2 3/4 spacers on the top to extend your top plate to be in stock location. If you did the fork stops on the frontend will clear your tank bolts. The other is to make a threaded boss that fits the ID of your frame. Slide it into the frame were your tank stud use to be and use 2 flat head socket head capscrews that would be flat and not have the acorn nuts there anymore which should give you more turning radius.
