Default 16" front tire on sb

I want to put a 16" front tire on my street bob. I have read up how to do it but I was wondering if I would be able to just do the front and keep the 17" rear on for a while. I was thinking I could change the rear to 16" at the next tire change. Is there a reason this should not be done?
Thanks

The Cross-Bones came from the factory with a 16 up front and a 17 in the back. Just a matter of looks.

I have also been wanting to do this. Did you have to do anything different to the front end or just bolt on a 16 inch tire. ?? To the original OP please let us know how it goes for you ..

Lace a 16" rim to your hub. Ready to roll. Very nice ride with a 130 up front.

I believe so. It has mid-glide trees and hub like the FXDB.

I have a wideglide front end so I went with a crossbones wheel for the wider hub
