Hopefully in the next 3-4 years I'll be out of here.. I need to start planning what state to go to..I don't want high taxes and I don't want my retirement taxed..

I still have friends and family in Queens, Massapequa and my son lives in Long Beach. I dread anytime we go, just so much traffic.

Where the heck do you ride an Long Island, so much traffic.
I live in Ridge not far from Riverhead.. We ride out east on both North and South forks.. it's getting really old. Sometimes we take the Ferry to Bridgeport CT for the day...

I grew up in NYC and went to DCCC, never owned a bike in NY though. I used to own a 1974 Laverda, (Italian 750 Twin), when I lived in NJ and rode it up once to see my buddies in Poughkeepsie...I could have been riding more lately, but it's been raining an awful lot. The pastures behind me are partly flooded, as the ground is 100% saturated...

I live in IL only because I have a great high-paying job with a great pension. Will be moving out in another 5 years. I will move to either WY, TN or MO. The costs of living and tax burden compared to IL and NY are a night and day difference.

I visited an office we have in Oak Ridge (near Knoxville) last summer and I was intrigued. Lots of bikers, several area dealerships. I could learn to like it there.

I live about 3 hours South of Knoxville, in the foothills of the Appalachian's. I cannot begin to describe how nice the riding is in this area...some of the best riding in the country, especially Eastern TN, and Western NC...

TN is on my short list. A great state that has a lot going for it. Then again, anywhere other than IL (other than CA or the Northeast Coast) is a win for me.

I like TN. Been there many times over the years. Have relatives in Memphis. Just about any place I move to will be a big improvement over IL.
