Had never heard of Red Line before. Good to know. I have been using AMS.

He launches into this thing and says, "Every failed transmission I've ever pulled apart had Red Line in it. You should see how it chews up bearings."
I know there's millions of miles on their products, and I couldn't find anything on the web backing up his claims.

This same service department was telling somebody a few weeks later that if they bought Dunlop tires from a non-Harley source, they would be getting B stock/ blem tires. More bunk!
They're told to say that. They want you to use Harley oil, which is not the best. Red Line "Shock Proof" gear oil is thick and pink, like Pepto Bismol. I did a service after 5K miles, and that gear oil came out as thick and pink as the day it went in! Red Line Products are so good, on the recommendation of my mechanic, I change the engine oil every 5K, and the gear and primary every 10K...been doing this a few years now and no problems. I also want to say that my mechanic is one of the best and highly regarded mechanic's in the area. He is meticulous and very knowledgeable. He's the one who put the Stage IV upgrade in my bike, and not one problem after over 40K miles...I won't let anyone else touch my bikes, and certainly not a Harley dealer, other than the brake flush every two years...my mechanic can't do those anymore because of insurance liability. It all has to do with the new brake fluid they're using and the equipment to properly brake flush I think. Anyway, it seems that there is a movement to make vehicles in general harder to work on, other than by dealers...

I do not doubt that. Dealers lose money when people do their own work. They do not like that.

I've been using Redline shockproof for the transmission for over 20 years. Great stuff.

I use Harley primary oil and Mobil 1 engine oil.

One other benefit of the Redline is if there is a leak it's easy to tell if it is transmission oil cause of the pink color.

I’m still using the Harley stuff in all 3 holes. Haven’t ever really thought about switching it up.

Ordered my tire on saturday, hoping it will be by the end of the week to go get put on. This commander 2 still has a little life left in it but it's been on there for 6 years so I'd rather get it replaced now. Gotta go buy the fluids next and do the service, hoping to get to the beach for a few days next month and I'll ride the bike down.
