Interested to know what any of the Low Rider owners paid for the 1000 mile service. I am not a mechanical person and will have to rely on the dealer to do it.

I think mine was $325-$340. Included synthetic in the motor and primary and Bel-Ray in the transmission.

Vance & Hines Big Radius. Not sure on whether to get the 2 into 1 or 2 into 2. Love the round of this exhaust.

Is there some sort of first oil change or service before the 1000 mile one?

All this HD stuff is new to me.
Unfortunately a lot of sales people don't care to know about the products they sale! The 1000 mile is the first service! Here is the breakdown from copper canyon H-D in butte Mt 5 syn3 QTS $64.75 1 oil filter chrome superpremiu $13.95 1gasket service kit $6.49 2 hours labor $178.00 shop supplies $12.46 grand total $275.65

Roger that on the V&H Quiet Baffles. I put them in my Supertrapp Mean Mothers II and love the way they perform A good rumble and the backpressure they provide gives good performance on the low end. Love 'em!

I am willing to pay up to $300 for the 1000 mile service. Hope my local dealer is in the reasonable realm and not in the gouge the customer realm at $500 or more.

Er uh, $300 for a 3 quart oil change sounds a little on the gougy side to my ears. Funnels and crescent wrenches are far more reasonably priced.

I could be wrong but from what I was told and have been lead to believe is that the 1000 mile service involves more than just an oil change. Does it not include:

change fluids and filter
check plugs
check tires / spokes
check/adjust belt tension
adjust clutch
adjust throttle/idle cables

The salesman I spoke to said it was a comprehensive service to make sure everything is working right and that everything is tight.

I found this 1000 HD Service Checklist:
