2014 Low Rider

I would say you do. In 40+ years of riding I have never owned more than one motorcycle at a time. A lot of that has to do with where I live. Much shorter riding season.

When I first started riding Harley's in 2005, my first purchase being an '06 88TC Low Rider, I was living in South Florida where we ride year round. I also joined a local HOG chapter that did a LOT of riding. I soon realized that if I was going hang with those guys, a Dyna wasn't going to cut it. Luckily I was making a very good living and found a loaded 2005 Ultra Classic with 4,400 miles at an excellent price. I rode both bikes for years, amassing over 100K miles, including a 10,500 ride in 2007 that was part of that year's HOG Posse ride. I traded both bikes in on a 2011 Ultra Limited as they were getting a little long in the tooth. I rode that bike for a couple of years until I hit a deer in May of 2014 and totaled it. I immediately bought an identical 2013 Ultra Limited, having started the purchase process while I was still i the hospital. By that time Harley had reintroduced the Low Rider, but this time with the 103TC! Well I had to have one of those, so 3 1/2 years ago I found the LOADED 2015 LR I have today. This bike was a steal at $14,500 OTD, because it literally has just about every option you could want, including some I wouldn't have done myself. Both bikes are paid for and because I do ride both bikes, maintenance costs are spread out over a longer period of time, so it doesn't seem like I'm constantly taking the bike into the shop for tires and service...

I did an external breather install. Thanks to ludville1 if he's still around who gave me this idea.

I started off with an external breather when I first got my bike. They can get messy. I went to a catch can a few years ago. Now all I do is empty the filth out of the catch can instead of cleaning it off my bike.

Thanks for that feedback. Fortunately I can replace the filter with a catch can with the same 3/8" inlet if it becomes an issue.

Has anyone tried routing the hoses up instead of down, so the oil can drain back instead of out?
I did something similar on one of my Triumphs and I used this air/oil separator from Harbor Freight in front of the filter.
