Agreed. Some really good aspects to an electric bike but some real downsides.

 

I forgot to mention that when I did my rear tire the other day, the wheel bearings were smooth and quiet. With 28K on it, I decided to leave them alone. I think they'll be fine until at least the next tire change.

My 2014 brake light is not working nor are the rear turn signal lights going solid when braking.My rear turn signals do work. I get an intermitent red led on the speedo its currently clear but problem persists. Any help is appreciated. If it's a bad BCM is that something I can replace myself? TY

 

Did you check for codes?

 

The rear turn signals do not light up when braking unless there has been some sort of conversion (like the triple play from CD) added, otherwise they are just turn signals. First do the simple thing and check the brake light bulb, replace it even if it looks good, they are cheap. Second, check the brake switch located in the right hand grip. The red LED is telling you the bulb is not working, that will clear up once the problem is addressed. Good luck!

 

I had them update the BCM when I bought the bike to turn the rear signals into stop signals.

Also, Does that mean the red led will light when any bulb fails? THX

 

Yeah, I had the light come on when I installed my first LED headlight, the light was working low and high beam but when switched to high the red light would come on. My guess is the LED didn't pull as much power so the computer thought it was out. Sounds like you have a brake switch and/or master cylinder plunger (that operates the switch) issue. Check there first and report back
