Had the day off today and managed to get a nice 90 mile ride in. Sat is looking good as well, Another trip to Indiana. Should be at about 32K by the end of next week.

i once had similar symptoms to yours. It took several tries at cleaning the rotor and pads before it finally quit. Don't know what was causing it, but it did finally go away.

So, here in UK we're allowed out for recreation on our bikes again; been so busy with work I only managed 30 miles today, but a great feeling nonetheless. But I would value any advice you may have about an issue that's been developing for a while. The bike goes, handles and stops fine, but...
... when coming to a halt, and only if I'm gently using the front brake, there is often a slight juddering through the bars, just before I come to a complete stop; there even seems to be a very slight metallic sound that goes with it, but it's all so brief that it's hard to identify what's going on. As far as I can tell there's nothing wrong with the head bearing, but as I don't have any way of jacking up the front wheel it's hard to tell. I've checked the fender, brake system, handlebars, and engine mount, and nothing seems to be loose. The only thing that's caught my attention is that, when I push down hard on the forks at a standstill, I think there's a slight notchiness at one point, but I can't be sure if that's related.
Any ideas?

Depending on how you ride, it can be a very very long time ... especially if you use the Factory "Minimum Pad Thickness" spec (which very very few do) ... check your FSM and you'll see

I do a lot of riding and I ride hard. I have replaced brake pads and rotors before and used to go through tires like crazy. I've probably gone through 3 or 4 sets of rotors on my Baggers in the last 15 years, but I do a lot of mountain riding and do a lot of accelerating and braking. Those who do a lot of highway riding and general cruising, will not use up their brake pads like I do...l have close to 200K miles on Harley's in the last 15 years and currently own my 4th and 5th...live hard, ride hard...
