Same boat. I would love to ride more but the weather just does not allow it where I live. Had my bike 5 years and I have only been able to hit 31K. The most I have ever racked up on a motorcycle. I had a Kawasaki ZZR 1200 from 2006-11 that I put 13,500 miles on in 5 years.

Weather isn't the issue for me, its more like life obligations lol. I can't commute to work on the bike except once every other week or so, and with my long hours and my wife working full time and in school full time along with my 2 year old son at home, it just doesn't leave much time to get out and ride. When I first started riding I was younger and single, bought a CBR and put 10,000 miles within the first 3 months of riding, and had 18,000 miles on it when I traded less than a year later.

No complaints though, being a good husband and father is most important to me now, my low rider is always patiently waiting in the garage for me when I have time

That is some serious mileage. The most I ever clocked in a single year was about 8K. And that is in 40+ years of riding.

When I lived in South Florida and didn't hunt, I was doing 1,500 miles a month. The riding is much better in North Georgia, but with winter and hunting, I'm just not riding as much. I also am very active with Skeet & Trap shooting and you can't be two places at once, lol

In 2007 I did 10,500 miles in 5 weeks on a looped, cross-country ride. Last year I did 6,200 miles in 2 weeks on a trip to Arizona...both of those trips were on 900 lb. Baggers, not Dyna's, lol...I will add that on the HOG Posse ride I did in 2007, the oldest guy was 78 and did it on a Sportster!!!

That is some true hard-core riding. Once I retire in a few years, I will likely at least double my yearly mileage.

I was young, single and it was my first bike. I was addicted, I couldn't get enough lol. I bought the bike in mid april so it was perfect time of year for warm weather. I rode daily to work which normally was 25 miles but I had a long route I would take that was around 50 miles each way just to get some extra time in. I worked 7-5, when I got off work I rode until bed time and on my days off I rode to the mountains around 300-400 miles round trip. If it wasn't pouring rain and I wasn't working I was riding, sometimes wish I could do it all over again!

On a side note me and my wife got some time in on the low rider yesterday, although a little cool otherwise a beautiful day to be riding. Got some riding in around the lake and down into Uwharrie area here in NC

Was able to ride to work Wed and Thurs. Was off work Fri. Too cold to ride today but will be riding Sat. My hunger and eye of the tiger for riding is getting strong.

Anyone have experience with getting accessory power off of your bike? I want to run a USB port at the handlebars. Harley has an accessory cord that plugs into the data port. That might get tight if I have my fuelpak plugged into that port. My bike has a capped 2 pin SAE connector under the left panel that looks factory installed. I could go right to the battery, I think the chance of killing the battery with my phone is minimal. Thoughts?

This plugs directly into the battery tender plug which is what you are talking about on the left side of the bike. You're not gonna kill the battery using that with the bike running obviously, but I wouldn't use it with the bike off, I'm not even sure if that connector has power with the bike off.
