2014 Low Rider
#5381
Added a few items to my low rider over the weekend. Added leather bags and turn signal relocate. Installed screaming Eagle air cleaner and slip on exhaust. Installed Andrews 48H cam. Had it Dyno tuned after.
Purchased the bags, air cleaner, cam, adjustable pushrods, pegs and seat from forum members. Sounds so much better ! Performance gain was adequate, about 20% improvement in torque. Converter is still in headpipe. Will most likely switch to a D&D fat cat at some point.

Sorry to hear about the job loss. Hope you land a new one quickly. Gas should not go that bad within a month. Wish you a speedy return to riding your LR.

If you switch pipes, you’ll need to dyno tune all over again...

But it does feel better. I'm sure after a new pipe & tune I'll be even happier.

Yes, catcons do impede gas flow. It'll be interesting to find out what the effect of the D & D pipe has. I would think a stepped tube system would scavenge the best.

Exhaust
I was hoping for more. I didn't realize the cat was so restrictive. I didn't want to drill out the cat as it looked like it would leave a big empty cavity, which I assume would severely detune the pipe.
But it does feel better. I'm sure after a new pipe & tune I'll be even happier.

Been 7-8 days without any chance to ride. Looking forward to the upcoming week as the rain goes away. Need to run my tank out before filling up and adding some Stabil.

Put the bike back together and gassed it up. Still have to redo froint fender and mount the fairing but overall pleased with the turnout for first bike to spray.

I imagine this has been covered but I've been unsuccessful with my searching.
Stock rear tire on the 2014 is 160/70B17. Without changing anything, such as belt width, what wider rear tires can I easily run on the stock rim?
What wider rear tire sizes are folks going with?
I'm looking at a Pirelli Night Dragon in 170/60R17 or 180/60B17
What would the down sides be to this change?

Got the Supertrapp on, Bassani is now with a friend who is enjoying it on his new-to-him dyna...
Got it on Wednesday night, then proceeded to be sick as a dog...felt good enough yesterday to get out for a bit of a rip. Quiet at idle but has a nice roar when you roll on the throttle, no more bracket clearance issues like I had with the Bassani and my taller shocks. Bike feels a little more responsive, seems like the power curve might have smoothed out a bit, this is all of course according to the butt-dyno...overall I'm very happy with it.
