Yeah, I was pretty shock as well. My hope is that they let you talk them into giving you the 'buddy deal' so as to secure your dealer loyalty, but other than that I have know idea why they charge so much.

I, like any smart man would, complained to the old lady about it. Then hit her with the old 'look at how much I'm saving us by doing it myself. I could almost afford another bike since I'm doing all the work myself'. Negotiations continue, but the thoughts out there.

For that kind of money, to change the oil and check a few bolts for tightness? Come one now, that's some crazy **** right there! The recall service was the first time someone other than myself has touched a thing on my bike since I bought it.
I have heard many similar dealer service price reports. My dealer charges $340 for the full AMS Syth service. I paid that for 3 of my services and $290 for one when I got a $50 gift card from HD off any service work done by a dealer. This is, in large part, why I thought the cost of my tire service would be reasonable. Lesson learned. Next time, I am making some calls.

Side note - anyone know of an aftermarket shifter option that works with the further forward mid controls? The splines on the inside of my shifter are already toast after 5k miles, since I have to replace it soon I would rather upgrade than replace it with the same one that failed...

New battery seems to be doing the trick. Bike started right up Fri and Sun. Will be riding again on Fri. Glad it was something as simple as the battery.

Mine are stock. The stock bars work great for me. There are many LR owners who have replaced the stock bars. I'm sure one of them will have the answer. If you go back a few pages, I believe someone posted about it.

with 12" you would probably be good with +4 on both. I had 16" apes so I went +8, but there was alot of slack. I switched to 14" t bars and ran the same cables. Now there is way too much slack, but aleast I can hide it behind the fairing.

I would go with +4 or +6 if you dont mind a little extra slack

That is good news. Hopefully this one will last longer!

I really appreciate the advice. I measured the lines today and it seems line +5 will do but I don't think they come in odd numbers. I don't mind the slack so I might go for +6. Again, thanks for the input.
