What length did you get? I was thinking of going all the way to the 13". If I did I would probably order a new side stand from Harley for a FXDC that is a little longer. The fella on here from France did that for his, I think he bought 13.6" shocks.

I'm saving for the Progressive 444-4039B 13" standard duty black shocks. I don't ever ride two up. So the standard duty is good for me at 200lbs & 6' feet tall.
Its my understanding the heavy duty shocks are for a heavier rider or a rider who mostly rides two up.

a1a you should just go with the new ones from HD http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...mulsion-shocks

most of the progressives are of lower quality unless you get the 970

Looking forward to Sun to next Fri as the weather will be mostly in the 70s all week with no rain. Going to hit 4000 miles by the end of next week. Figure I should be ready for the 5000 miles service in mid-Oct.

I appreciate your input 98acrsilver. The harley davidson shocks look pretty good. But only come in the stock length with a one year warranty. Progressive 444's come in a 1" inch longer length which I want and a life time guarantee.

Was hoping to make it a local Demo Day event to see the 2016s and ride a few but the rain has been coming down since last night and continues throughout the day.

That sucks. We have a demo day coming up soon as well, I was thinking about trying out a Road King but I might stay home. The temptation may be too much.
I just got back from another cruise with some friends. Probably be my last good ride for the year. I won't get a chance to get out again for another 10 days depending on how the weather is when the time comes. Then after that we will be getting into Oct. It starts getting a little cool to be heading out on the highway by then and we could even have snow on the ground. I am sitting at 4800 miles now and hope to make it to 5,000 by the time I have to park it for the winter. I picked up all the oils and the filter for the service yesterday.

The only way to defeat temptation is to confront it, meet it head on, and stare it in the face. However, Demo Day events due tend to cause people to get new bikes. Perhaps staying home is the better course of action.

Going solo.....ordered up the Mustang Vintage Solo seat and the belt guard front bracket/hardware from the Street Bob for removing the passenger pegs. I really like how a solo seat cleans up the lines of the rear fender.

I'm sure you know, but be ready for a fight getting the front screw removed from the belt guard. Use an impact driver to break the threadlock and make sure you use a good quality Torx head. Experience
