Default RE: which bike

I own a sporty and have grown out of it after only 3 months. I wish that I would have rode a demo bike. I will be moving up to a Dyna or Softail this summer. I am still unclear on what the differences are. Can somebody give me a brief runtime on the differences between both models?

Am also looking at a low rider as the seat is closest to the ground than the other models but I guess it would be cheaper for me to just put different shock on my sporty to lower it down.

Dyna - rubber mounted engine/tranny. standard type frame w/swingarm.

Softail - counterbalanced solid mounted engine. swingarm made to look like old rigid frame. horizontal shocks mounted underneath bike.

The Dyna Wide Glide is the most comfortable H-D I've ever ridden stock (and I've ridden many). The forward controls are very accomodating to longer legged riders. The Dyna line-up would offer something very appealing to riding you want to do.

I just bought a FXDL and could not be happier. I am back into riding from a lengthy non-riding period (I did ride bicycles for exercise during this period) and I find the Low Rider to be an excellent handling bike and fairly forgiving. Plus I have short legs (30" inseam) so I can put both foots on the ground at the same time.

Harley did offer me a very long term loan. I fergit exactly how long but it was a lot longer than 60 months (5 years) but I don't think that it was as long as 15 Years. The interest was also out-of-sight on the longer term loans. I am able to get my loans at a much better rate albeit for a shorter term.

Good luck!

Tripper,

I believe someone told me 72 was the limit, may be totally out to lunch on that one. 15 years is usually for boats, mobile homes, and folks with enough cashola to pay a mortage off in 15 vice 30.

Just crazy to go 15 years on $10K-25K...

Im thinking you can go 10yrs, 120months through HD, which sounds crazy when you say it, but Id rather start initially with what I want and finance it out rather than settle for something I dont want that I will prob sell. You can always refinance it later for a shorter term when you can afford to pay more, or just double or triple up the payments.
