New Dual Disc Part Numbers!
#141
Reviving an old, and long, but very informative thread. Can someone clarify this for me. On the first page with part numbers, it lists one of the caliper numbers as 44023-00C, which is off an '07 Road King I believe. Because it is not the Brembo, which I know wont work, this one will ? I'm asking cause I can get a matching L/R set for $50. Just didnt want to waste my money. I dont remember when the rotors went from 11.5 to 11.8. I'm gonna put dual disc on my '14 Street Bob.

I have 2016 sliders/lowers from an FXDL on my 08 FXDB. Will the brake calipers from 08 still work? (p/n 44046-08 (L) and 44487-08 (R) )
Having a hard time bleeding the brakes, and trying to go over every last thing that could be wrong. Axle, bearings, spacers, sleeve are all the same from 08FXDB to 16FXDL, so....

Try reverse bleeding. Same as shown in the video below but I use a tee to get both calipers at once.

I don't like this "reverse bleeding" procedure.
Most of the debris and gunk in a brake system will be congregated in the caliper area. Why push all of that stuff back up the system into the master cylinder and risk having some of it remain in the system even after you think clear fluid is filling the master cylinder?
I've never had trouble bleeding from the calipers on the H-D models. I prefer getting out the contaminants by the shortest route possible.
