Default Highway Peg Help

I just finished putting on the highway peg set up on my 06 SB. I took it for a test ride, I really like having the option for different foot placement. The one drawback I found was on the right side, it was difficult to get a good foot rest on the peg because my leg is being pushed out by the air cleaner cover. Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice on a solution other than taking the air cleaner cover off? Is there any kind of extension or spacer I could put where the footpeg mounts to the bracket? Thanks for your help.

Don't know about you but I'm 5'6" and am having the same problem. There was slack between the bolts and the holes so I got an extra half inch that way. Also found my sundowner seat sits back a little far so if I scoot up to the tank I'm good. I am looking at getting a sowrider seat to fix the problem. It sits you up alot closer.

I went to the dealership to talk with the parts guys about this, we looked throught the HD book, the Kuryakn book, and the Drag Specialties book, and couldn't find any kind of extension. The only solution that we could come up with was taking the A/C cover off. Anyone know of any downsides to doing this?

I assume your problem is keeping your feet closer in on the pegs due to them getting pushed out by the A/c. Have you considered a smaller A/C cover? The stock one does seem to stick out quite a bit, especially for someone of shorter stature trying to use the pegs.

Kuryakin does have extensions for foot pegs. My stealer showed me a few sizes in the catalog this afternoon.
Heres a spot to get started on researching what you might want.

There is a pair ofadjustable brackets instead of the 2 bolt, rigid mount ones. Will they not work?

I believe Dennis Kirk has extensions, I know I have seen them somewhere and I'm sure it was DK. Check out Denniskirk.com

Otherwise maybe an engine guard with the pegs mounted on it would do it for you, it does change the look of the bike though.

Stop smoking and drinking coffee......then get one of those things that hangs you upside down by your legs.
