Dealerships vary in price, ballpark somewhere in the $300-$500 range.

I will say that it's not rocket science and if you can hold a screwdriver and wrench you can do it yourself with a service manual.

Save yourself a few hundred dollars for upgrades.

If you look at the maintenance schedule of the owner's manual that came with your bike it details what needs attention at 5000 miles. It's not too many things. My HD dealer recommended I do the 5k myself and bring it in for the 10k since they have to check out the steering head bearing. I have no idea how to do that and I am sure I don't have the tools.

A service manual is your friend. It will save you far more than the cost! 5K service is pretty easy in comparison to the other mileage services. But ya, $3-350 is what the dealer will charge.

I had my 5k done last summer. I was about 1200 over, but didn't seem to bother any of them. I believe mine was $313. Getting close to the 10k service.

That they will. Buy one for all my bikes. While buying my first Harley the other day the salesman asked if I had any questions, I was like where are the service manuals.
