Make sure your grip isnt slid over to far and catching the end of the bar

Loosen the switch housing and bump the whole thing away from the bike a little

Is the grip sticking or the cables not working right

try adjusting the cables, undo both lock nuts, undo the switch block and check the cables for free play....Never use grease only a bit off wd 40// silicon spray

Even better, use powdered graphite. It comes in a small tube. Also, you might want to use some 400 grit sandpaper on the bar before sliding on the grip.

Remove the cables to find out if it's the grip or the cables that are causing this issue.
I've read some posts in here stating the bars had to be sanded down a bit.

I put just a drop of marine grease on my bar on the throttle side prior to installing. It may not be recommended, but it has worked fine for me for years. IMO wd 40 will evaporate and leave you with the same problem.

That's been a recurring issue on the forum, especially relating to new bars.

A few things to try.
1. First, check your cables and make sure the function is working. Bound cables can cause a throttle to stick.
2. Verify that the throttle tube/cable-groove area isn't bound up in the switch housing.
3. As discussed, make sure the entire assembly isn't too far onto the bar. The end of the bar can contact the inside of the grip and cause drag. It sounds like you've already checked this.
4. Try simply sanding the bar at the grip area. Especially if the bars are powder coated per painted. This is more than likely the problem. If your throttle turns now and just sticks a little, it won't take much sanding. If it really binds up, you may have to remove a decent amount of material.
5. Use some sort of lube. I like the dry graphite myself. It's easy to apply and provides a very smooth lube. Being dry, it doesn't attract dirt or debris.
