Default Blinker and Plate mount on FXDC

So I was bored sitting around the house today So I walked down to the garage and started looking at my bike trying to find something to d to it. Being broke my options are a bit limited I decided I hated where the plate mount was and where the blinkers were so it was time for it to change! Took it all apart decided I would rather have the plate under the tail light. So I drilled some holes under the light, mounted the bar for the blinkers to the light and made a plate for the licence plate to sit on that mounts to the same studs from the blinker bar. And will ya look at that! So much Better! And was free! Now I just need to find a way to cover up those old holes!

used to have it like that on another bike, hated it because it hid the tire, now you have to fill the other holes with something

The hardware store will have some plastic hole plugs for a buck or so. Dab them with yellow touch-up paint and snap them in the holes.

It still puts it up on top of the fender though. I like the color and the look of the fender so I wanted to see more of it. Plus this was free haha.

Thank you, this is exactly what I want to do. I do not understand how you mounted the turn signal bar. Did you bolt it to the plastic lens? It looks to me like there are bolts going into the bottom of the red lens?

Any possibility of a picture showing the back of the plate (from the side) to see how you attached the plate to the bar? Did you reuse any of the original bracket? I still have the original bracket which is a piece of black pressed steel.

I really appreciated your cost effective approach.

I mounted the light bar using the two studs it already had. Drilled two holes and put it up through the bottom of the light housing but not the lens. Takes a bit of careful drilling but it works fine! And I sealed it up with some silicon. I then made a plate hanger just out of a piece of heavy gauge sheet metal I had laying around. and used the two studs from the signal bar to mount it. I now just have an LED strip and a plate light for it. Hope this helps!
