Default Axles. WTF???

I swear I have the worst luck with axles. I attempted to take out my front axle, to get the wheel off for my polished slider project. What do ya know, it was the same as when I tried to get the back one out last fall. I can't imagine what it would look like another year from now.

Why does HD do this chit? There wasn't a drop of grease, let alone anti-sieze. Tim

My rear one looked like that when I changed rear tires awhile back. Not one drop of grease on mine. I didnt remove mine for polishing my slider but now you have me thinking I might ought to check the front axle as well.

John, it might be a good idea. Seems as though the longer they'll in there, the harder they are to get out. I had to hit mine out with a punch and I managed to booger it up. Hopefully, I can still use it. Use anti-sieze on it if you pull it out. Tim

My rear was the same at 6500 miles when I had the rear tire replaced. Guy had a h3ll of a time getting the rear axle out. That's as close to a sin as you can get on an almost new motorcycle.
He buffed the axle up real nice and greased it goin back in.
Harley must like saving money on lubricants.
