Nice looking 99. It's so hard keeping them stock.

New 04 FXDX at the dealer. Now 10 years later.

It was a great looking bike new, and it's a great looking bike now. I still don't understand why they don't produce an FXDX.

Getting ready to put alot of it back together.

Most of my stuff is back from powder coating....

front and rear wheels
upper and lower trees
fork legs
some other misc stuff powder cooted semi-black

Got a new ME888 140 mounted up for the rear and waiting on the new front....it was supposed to be here yesterday, but I guess UPS decided I didn't really need it til Monday.

The 3* neck cups are installed and the longer stem is mounted in the lower tree. Drilled the lower tree for a bottom mount headlight. Still have to rebuild the fork legs, install races in both wheels and check end play in the wheels.

After the bike is mostly back together, minus the tank, I am gonna order up some black 15" bars and see if I can be together before March 1st.

Got some more done last night....the rear fender and wheel are bolted up, everything is torqued and has loctite on it. The 140 ME888 just fits with like 1/16th of an inch clearance on the belt. All new bearings in the wheels and neck. Also added new pads in the rear caliper. To finish up the rear end, I just have to wire the turn signals and lock up the bottom shock mounts. I put the forks back together and bolted them up....the pic shows the wheel in place with no axle. Also got a bottom mount headlight off eBay for like 10 bucks. Just drilled a hole in the bottom tree so that's done too.

With the short Progressive shocks and the 3* neck cups this bike is gonna be pretty low.

Today was productive....it's back on the ground. Got the rear turn signals wired. Front wheel is on, end play is set.

Next is the bars/cables/wiring. Then tank goes back on. I think the front fender is gonna stay off.

Bike is pretty low and now it's a PITA to get it on and off the lift.

Every time someone slams and puts apes on an FXDX God kills a kitten. At least its not the later double adjustable suspension model. That would equate to 2 dead kittens. Color is killer though.

That works for me.....I can't stand cats.

Hey If someone with a Low Rider wants to trade......I'm down. Where I ride the roads are flat and straight....there aren't many twisties. Besides I am keeping all the stock stuff....so it's just a matter of switching this and that out. No cutting going on so it'll always only be a few hours worth of work to put it back up in the air like a dirt bike.

Totally not kidding about the cat thing either.

No apes, but must have killed a lot of kittens after dumping the FXDX look of my 04.
