Default 11 Street Bob, how large a rear tire?

My stock rear tire (160) has almost had it, (i have maybe a couple of hundred miles left on it safely).
Without having to change anything out, I can go to a 180 correct? Is the 180 as large as I can go?, also are there any options for a slightly 'taller' tire? I raised my suspension to 13in (for my back) but I was hoping to get a tire that will fill that gap a little more than the stock tire does.

Thanks for any input

Nothing is gonna be taller to fill in that gap, thats just the downside to taller suspension. You can get a 180 in there, make sure your wires are clear out of the way tho to prevent rubbing.
Lots of threads on this if you are looking for quick/more info.

Bummer re-tire height, that look is just a trade off I had to make due to my back. Thanks for the info!

The Night Dragon is supposed to be one of only a couple of 180's that work on the stock Street Bob wheel. Here's a fuzzy shot of mine, before mounting, for comparison. I think it was a fraction of an inch, smaller in outside diameter, than the stock tire.

I had Harley put on the 180 upgrade when it was time for a new rear tire on my Street Bob. Looks good.

Hi Alleyn - just to confirm, you put a 180 Night Dragon on the stock rim on a 2011 Street Bob and do not have clearance issues, correct? Sounds like your bike is the same as mine and I would like to go with this tire and appreciate your feedback. Plus I have the "special" strut backing plates on there from mounting some H-D saddlebags that I sometimes use which gives me a little extra room compared to stock (same "kit" that comes with the H-D 180 Upgrade).

Just a heads up, usually/not always but usually when you go wider with motorcycle tires you are not going to get as much side wall. I personally didn't want the hassle of it maybe rubbing. Put a 170 on with no problems and no worries and I can bet no one looks at it and says hmmmm that guy went with a 170 instead of a 180.

Went with an a wider rim -18'- on mine and fitted a 200. Best thing I did and fills up the back end nicely. I have no problems with it rubbing so you won't have any fitting issues with the dragon 180. Word is they are a great tire.

I would NOT put the Night Dragon tire on if you are wanting a larger rear tire.
It is around a half inch narrower than the Dunlop GT-502, 180/60x17.
I have used these Dunlop rear tires on both of my 'Bob's and have had good service.
If wide is what you are going for, get the GT-502!!!
