I am going to pick up my bike on friday. It is a 2000 dyna wide glide with 10,000 miles on it. I am getting a screamin deal. Anything I need to know about before I purchase this year and model. I know it is a dual cam motor and a 5 speed. Carbeurated. i wish i it had fuel injection, but its alot less thean a new bike so I will take carb, Anyhow if there are any issues with this year and model, please let me know. Oh does anyone have the 5th gear specks . i know the 6 speed in the 2006 in a 1 to 1 6th gear.

 

I have FI on my 06 Dyna and I would rather have the carb.
More flexible MUCH cheaper to tune and change and probably
works just as good as FI.
I am not too lazy to use the enrichner either.

I am only getting 40 to 42 mpg on my 06 too and it does not seem
to make a diff between town or trip driving.

I have a FXDWGI, 05, with FI. Like the other guys say, it is a little harder to tune than a carb. As far as rideability, I don't think there is a difference. Mine rides fine. The only thing that sucks is tuning it. When I put new pipes on, I also had to drop another $250 for a power commander 3. But, It rides fine and sounds just like everyone elses.
