Default arlen ness fairing

Can u guys please take a look at this link and tell me whether this fairing is just for show. . . Or if it actually keeps the winds out of your face. . . Anybody have one of their on your bikes? Just got a 2012 fxdc and I'm looking to put something on the front for the wind.

For what it's worth, a friend of mine put a Ness fairing on his Dyna maybe 10 years ago. But he added a small plexiglass visor mounted off the handlebars to direct wind over his face.

I have an MS Gauntlet, and the wind hits me in the face as well.

Welcome to HDF. That style of fairing does not block wind from your face. It only takes it off your chest and mid section, which makes high speed cruising remarkably comfortable. If you don't like the wind in your face, take a look at the Rifle fairing or one of the T-sport reproductions. Those are capable of using taller windscreens that will keep the wind off your face.

There are tons of posts here about this and other quarter fairings throughout the forum. Just punch "ness fairing" into the search function.

This thread is full of bikes that run that fairing: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...dyna-pics.html

I use the HD version and love it:

Enjoy and share some pics of that new ride when you can.

I also have HD fairing and love it, I added 4" tall ROADAWGZ windscreen which made all the difference. Road to Sturgis this year and work out very well. Good luck

If you want to block a lot of wind, try a windshield or a batwing fairing.

I also have the Memphis Shades Gauntlet which is a bit wider than the Ness, but probably about the same blockage. MS makes a batwing too.

I'm just giving you a hard time, someone always pops in with a douche-bag comment to welcome the new guy, might as well be me!

Merry Christmas man, welcome. Try the search tool!
