One way to sort things out...

Many dealers allow a 'test ride' of the bikes (with certain restrictions). Ride both... for about a hundred miles each, then sort it out. Maybe... you visit two dealers and do a second' test ride', this time with your 'house mouse' on the back. Just a thought...

 

Me personally I think it's a marketing gimmick, a way for the MOCO to get you to A:buy two bikes, Sportster now and "upgrade" later or B:More expensive bike now so you won't have to upgrade later.Different bikes suit different purposes if most of your riding is week end back road burning or cross town bar hopping a Sportster or Buell would be a better choice.If your doing any kind of traveling or your just too big to get comfortable on a Sporty by all means get the big twin.
