Default Forward control shift linkage

Recently bought a set of Kuryakyn forward controls, part#9063 from e-bay. I'm not sure if the shift linkage is correct. Went to install it on my 06 Streetbob and the shift linkage doesn't appear to be long enough. I measured and it is approximately 12". I extended it as far as it would go, almost 14"but still short by about 2". Can anyone who has installed these controls tell me how long the shift linkage should be? Also appears that thearm of the shift lever on the forward controls may be short as it appears that if connected, the linkage would hit the top of the primary. Sorry no pics, haven't had a chance to take any yet. Any help or a pic of installed set would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

You sure you got the right set for your Model/Year? Sounds like maybe there was a mix-up somewhere......

I'm wondering if there was a mixup. I've researched the Kuryakyn website but I can't find any specifications for the parts. The part number indicates that it will fit an 06 Dyna and the instructions were included but there is little information about the shift linkage. All the pictures that I find are of the brake side which seems to fit just fine. If I can see a picture of the shift side I could probably tell but I haven't been able to find one.

I have changed my forward controls from my '04 FXD to my '06 FDXCI and the only thing I had to by was the shifter rod for an '06 DYNA.

Had no problems w/ the shift linkage on my 3rd gen Kury fwds....for me it was that my stock shift lever did not match up with the splines in the Kury piece.........I called Kury tech reps direct and they sent me a new part which solved the problem.

Give them a call and run it by them......maybe they can help.

If you bought from Eastern Performance Cycles on Ebay they may give you some good help as well.........they are one of the largest Kuryakyn distributors.

edited to say

I just measured my linkage out of curiosity and it measures exactly 14" but if I remember correctly on mine it is not opened up all the way.......I'd call Kury.

I put fwdcontrols on my 06 st bob that came off an 02 superglide. All I did was bake a bracket to extend the shift rod about 1 inch. Everything else fit fine.
