Hey! I was wondering what your all's thoughts were on an alternative license plate holder? With the overall Black Cherry and Chrome colors on my Wide Glide, I'm not a fan of the license plate bracket, which is just flat black with goofy little reflectors on it. I know that I don't want to go with a side-mount for now, and although I don't look at it that often, obviously, it's just one of those little things that I'd rather have in chrome, haha. I've searched around multiple sights and can't find anything "close" to this that's basically just the same in chrome. I'm up for any ideas, but I'm limited with the bobtail-styled fender, other than the side-mount, which may come later but not yet.

Have you considered taking it off and taking it to a shop where they will chrome plate it for you?

I do that sometimes with things I want chromed and it is usually cheaper than buying one that is chromed.

That gives me an idea, I might do mine, it may not look too bad.

Maybe, have it painted a custom color could be an option also.

 

There are lots of options out there, search ebay, just make sure you verify width before you buy, the 05 and 04 are wider than earlier models.

I eventually custom fabricated my own mount, but there are several aftermarket options out there, most in chrome.
