Default Vance and Hines on a 2012?

My buddy has a 2012 wideglide and is wanting to put vance and hines sideshots on it... the website says they are only for 2006-2011 models..
Anyone have experience putting these on the newer bikes? Are the 02 sensors the issue?
Thanks, any help appreciated!

The pipes will work if that is what he wants to get. He will need to get a pair of the adapters to go to the new smaller O2 sensors on his bike.

yes, it's the size difference of the O2 sensors that are the issue. i have straight shots on my 13, and i currently use a micro tuner that doesn't use the O2's anyway. i just got some bung plugs and they work just fine. frame wise pretty much everything is the same so they will fit just fine as long as you deal with the sensor issue. as someone else said, you can get an adapter or like i do, just use plugs.

They changed from 18mm threads to 12mm threads. The adapters will thread into the port on the pipes, and then your sensors will thread into the adapters. They are pretty cheap to get. You can even get them from V&H.
