Default Smudge on black denim paint from seat swap - need help

Hey guys I just swapped out my badlander seat for a c&c seat and I noticed that the badlander left smudges on my black denim paint on my rear fender. I guess the badlander was a little wider and left smudges under it and now it can be seen since my new seat appears to be a little narrower in one spot on the rear fender.

I'm really hoping there is some way to remove this or buff it out but I'm guessing I might be screwed on this one since it's black denim and can't be buffed. The only thing I can think of is taking off the seat and hitting it with some flat black rattle can. Please let me know if you guys have any experience with this or know how to fix it

My wife's Slim is Denim Black...I don't think there is any way to buff it out.

I think it would be worse with a rattle can...if it did not match perfectly, that would look worse.

The smudge is from when the old seat 'buffed' the paint while sitting on it. Short of a complete re-paint you'll have to live with it. Spray can touch up would stick out and wouldn't even match.

I used to have an 08 SB in Denim Black. I had some scratches on the tank and I thought I was F'd and would need to respray. I was told you could not use anything to rub it out. I said what the hell and I would give it a try. If it failed I would still have to respray anyway. I had some Extra Fine liquid rubbing compound and I gave it a shot. I rubbed it very carefully and I had great results. Not saying it will work for you like it did for me but as a last resort before re painting the fender I would give it a try.

That paint is suppose to wear and show marks, dealer even said so, u can't polish or buff flat paint that's clear coated.

lightly use a clay bar keeping it wet all the time ..then use mothers back to black...apply the mothers product on evenly and leave it on overnight before buffing it off with a soft cloth ...I always use this product works a treat for me

My 08 was not clear coated. Later ones were but I am not sure when they started.

That's why I'd want to flat clear it if I ever got some black denim
