Not positive but on this, but I'm pretty sure the break in period is up until your 1000 mile tune up. I would be very cautious and precise with how you treat the motor. Look into it some more, there are some limitations

 

My 2011 dyna surged mostly on the freeway whe I first bought it. he newer bikes are so lean that you really need o do a stage 1 upgrade on i for itto run right. If your budget is tight..get some XEID's, fthey cost about 100 bucks and will rick the ECM into adding more fuel. This in itself, cured surgin and even cooled the motor down a bit.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I didn't notice any type of issue until under load on a hill. I will look into all suggestions. This is my first Harley and the motor is different from anything I've had yet. I will look into the things suggested. Just don't want to void the warranty.

 

I don't "baby" my bikes in the break in period. I just don't bump the RPMs over 4000 until I am at 500 miles or so.
