Default Wyatt Floorboard Kit, Shifter Clearance Issues?

I just put on the Wyatt Floorboard Kit on Dyna. The kit comes with a one piece heel and toe shifter.

I have found that in the positions the spline allows, one position doesn't allow enough room to get your toe under the toe shifter and in the second position it doesn't allow you to up shift as the the hell shifter hits the board before it can up shift.

Anyone found a solution to this?

I lowered the boards 1.5 inches. They are too high to start with. Before that I would rather heel shift anyway. Not near the clunk when heel shifting. Don't ask why but is works better.

I have read that you can use the stock shifter...just needs a spacer.

What did you use to lower it? I think that are a little high.

Took the Watts kit of and replaces it with the HD FLD kit. It is a much better set up. I have read the FLD set up can be adapted to for heal/toe shifting. I personally do not like heal/toe shifting.

I have the Wyatt as well. I would be interested in somedetail as to what is different between it and the FLD kit.

As far as the shifter goes, I cut mine. However before I did I kept it heel/toe for a few weeks. One thing you can do to get better adjustment “between” spline positions is to adjust the angle by adjusting the rod between the shifter and the trans.

The FLD kit sits a bit lower and further forward then the Wyatt kit. To me this made riding a bit more comfortable.
