Switchback Windshield Buffeting
#21
After a couple of long rides looking through the WS, mine was a 21 RoadKing WS (mounts to FLD WS brackets the same) I placed my feet where the windjammers would go, and juvela, no more buffeting. I sought out some windjammers but they didn't make them for Dynas, so I saw the SoftTails almost lined up the FLD windshield mounts, and had to dremel them a little, and it worked. Went back to my 15" WS with windjammers and it was still good. I've tried taking the windjammers off a few times and run just the WS, but I always end up putting them back on. I could have put a 10 foot high windshield and the buffeting would have still been there. Hope that answers your question.

Okay, finally got a chance to do some highway testing with the windshield and the air is coming up over the windshield and hitting right above the visor of my helmet. There is some air coming in under the windscreen but it doesn't come any higher than my knees so I don't think it's attributing to the buffeting right now. Should I just measure the height of my helmet (from the visor to the top) and add that many inches to the windscreen?

I have the same issue and when I put up the shield on my full face helmet the buffeting is a little better so I'm thinking a couple inches on top of the screen solves the problem. Or, I noticed Memphis shades has a slight curve at the top which also may be enough.
If you lower your head a couple inches you can tell the buffeting is gone so its coming from the top.
