Default Upgrades looking for an opinion

Okay, here is the deal. I have been considering doing some work to the motor. I have 05 WG, 88cu. inch, SE breather, V&H Big Shots Staggered, Some fine tuning on the carb.

I have been thinking that I want to have the cams changed out and go with a Mikuni 42 carb.Maybe also the Big City Baffles. Has anyone else out there done this and if so do you think I will see much change in the power. I don't want to do the 95 inch kit yet as I don't have the cash for the heads and all of the other stuff that I want to do when I get that done. I don't expect to be able to do the 95 inch kit for a coupleof years so I wanted to do what I could now.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

I wouldn't think twice about the cams...go for it. But I think most people would say that if your carb ain't broke...don't fix it. A "fine tuned" stock carb will work nicely...and will also save you $300 or so towards something like say...an ignition system!

To save some bucks leave the stock carb on your bike, with some fine tuning its a good carb. Id look into some cams forsure. Maybe some Andrews 26's would work good with the rest of the stock parts your hanging on to. You notice some new found power forsure.[:-]

take a look at the andrews 37g cam from what i here they work well with the 88s and even beter in the 95s. if your going to change the carb get the hsr45 so you will have it when you go to the 95
