Hard Saddlebags
Folks,
I'm new to the forum and have a 2000 fxd and currently have no bags. The bike is great and in fabulous shape and I'd like to keep it rather than look for something new. I'd like to do some long rides in CAN and the US as I now have the time to do that kinda thing. I like hard bags and do not like the look of other bags. Dunno really just really like the look of the square (ish) hard bags. I'd like to add some fiberglass bags or something similar however, I do not really want to move the signal lights or buy bags with signal lights incorporated into the bag.
I'm not sure how practical that is or if there are bags on the market that fit that kinda thing. As well, I's like to keep the look of the bike and not add any had bags that make it look bulky or stupid. Anyway if anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate a line or two.
Oh yeah, I'm in BC therefore I'd like to avoid import fees and the like. That said, I think the US offers more options.
Thanks

I bought leather saddle bags that fit without moving the turn signals. What a mistake as they are so small my wife can't fit her purse in them. I bought a signal relo kit from CriuserCustomizing, I'm not mechanical at all and it took me 30 minutes to install. If you want full size bags the relo kit is worth the investment.

Any bags with some size for travelling will probably require moving the tail lights or getting different setup ones. I trio to save money initially by buying non hd bags but in the end found some hd bags used for an ok price. The hd bags just seem to fit better as they were made for your style bike.
