poor man luggage options?

poor man luggage options?
So I have a trip I want to do on the dyna next month (only around 200 miles each way, with an over night stay).
I need to get some kind of bag(s) on my street bob eventually. Found some saddle bags that I think i'll get, but I don't have the money lying around to get them before this trip.
I just need to take a backpack with me, due to the condition of my back I can't wear a backpack for a trip that long. My seat is a Mustang wide solo w/ backrest + passenger pillion.
Would it be a feasible option to strap down the backpack on my passenger pillion? using a cargo net and/or ratchet straps.
I got rid of my rear turn signals (for a truflex integrated led bar on the back of the fender) so I don't have turn signals to run straps around.
Has anyone here done this before, it seems like as long as it's strapped down well enough there shouldn't be an issue (I would obviously take it on a test run before heading out on the trip).

Your backpack strapped either to your seat or sissy bar will work fine. Inexpensive but decent saddle bags and other bags are available at Leatherup.com. I have throw-over bags and a roll bag from them that have enough room to keep me in clean clothes for at least a week before I need to do laundry. Have a great trip!

Dino I'll def check out those bags, if it comes down to it i'll just strap down my backpack on the passenger seat.
I was looking at throwover bags but I'm a little concerned of what they may do to denim paint.
Not sure what the brand is of bags that I had seen that I liked the look of.
Eventually I want saddle bags that are relatively easy to take on and off so I don't have to have them on all the time.
