Speedo stopped working...temporarily
Hey everybody!
I had something unusual happen to me today. Was out riding with a few people. We rode about 60-70 miles and stopped for lunch. After lunch, we started back towards home. We got about 20-25 miles into our return trip and one of my riding partners pulled up beside me and said that my taillights were not working. I wrote it off as a burnt out bulb, made a mental note to replace it, and we continued on our way. Later we got caught in the rain. I looked down and my speedometer had stopped working. The backlight was on but the needle was at zero as I was riding down the road. We pulled over to get out of the rain and were stopped for about 15-20 minutes. When I restarted the bike, the speedo was working perfectly. I don't think the taillights and speedo are related. I am a little concerned about the speedo. If the speedo isn't working, then the odometer isn't working. If that has happened frequently since new, I may have bought a bike with a lot more miles than I thought. The bike is a 2004 Low Rider with about 15500 miles on it.
Thoughts anyone?
