Friggin Throttle Control Cable

Friggin Throttle Control Cable
I need to remove my throttle control cables from the handlebar swich assembly and reroute them cause some dweeb routed them incorrectly. The manual says to put a couple of drops on the retaining ring inside of the switch housing, rock the cable back and forth and remove it from the housing. Well, one of them came out easily, the other one WON'T! I've pulled, twisted, and yanked on it and it won't release from the switch housing. What am I missing here? Am I holding my mouth wrong? Do I have to jump up and down and twirl three times for it to come out? ANY help would be appreciated.

RE: Friggin Throttle Control Cable
Throttle cable is now ruined. I put the allen head screws back in the control switch housing so I could have some leverage to pull on the throttle cable to try to get it to release. I pulled so hard, the 90 degree elbow separated from the cable end retainer. Next, I took a pair of pliers - got hold of the cableendretainer and was able to remove it from the switch housing. Apparently someone had been here before, hence the incorrect routing of the cables - and they ruined it before I got hold of it. This is what pisses me off - if you're going to work on your bike, do it right the first time. Don't screw it up. And if you screw it up, at least fix it.
Going to the HD shop tomorrow to buy another cable.. #&***()^%!!!
Flame off.

Boogie - Yeah, it is kinda creepy, but it is from the early 90s series Twin Peaks. Don't know if you watched it or not, but I found it very intriguing. Story is about the town favorite, laura palmer. She shows up dead and the FBI is called in to investigate the case. David Lynch directed the movie. Great plot, script and character development, but the 2nd season got weirder and weirder by the episode to the point where you didn't understand where in the heck the series was going. Still, it was a personal favorite of mine. The avatar is a pic of a dead laura palmer when they found her body in the river wrapped in plastic.
Just remember when you go to bed tonight, keep the night light on!
