Default Will a tune, fix the detonation?

Got the "tinking" sound when I crack the throttle open. From reading on the forum, it is detonation. Even when running non ethonal 91 octane.

Will a fuel moto micro tuner or power commander be able to eliminate the detonation?
If it would work, I would add a stage 1 air cleaner kit when doing a tuner.

Bike is a 2011 Fxdc-2700 miles, stock with a set of slip ons.

So many choices and so many opinions.

How well do you want your bike to run, how fast do you want it to go?
How much are you willing to spend?

I am not doing a tuner for power.
It runs great now, so not after dyno numbers or need to spend big bucks.

Just want to fix the detonation.

The only way I could get it to stop was to add a tuner. I didn't care about the power gain either, I already had the Xieds but I went ahead and did the full stage 1. It stopped the "tinking" and I picked up a few mpg.

I bought a tuner to have my bike run the best it could...the added power was a bonus.
It's your bike if you want to settle for less
