Don't know vs Progressive, but much better than stock.

Depends which Progressive's your comparing to. I had Ricors for past 3 years and started to leak. I ride on bad roads though. I was going to go with Works or Ohlins but saw a deal on Pro 970s that I could get right away. The 970s ride a lot better, but they are a bit longer. Ricor was 12" vs 970s in 12.5.

I have Ricor 12.5 inch rear shocks, sport tune. At this length there is 2 inches of shock travel. They are softer and absorb the bumps better than stock. My behind tends to remain in contact with the seat over bumps rather then bouncing off it. Longer shocks would not clear the exhaust in my situation(VH BSS). The bike leans over more when it is on the kickstand. No leaks or problems at about 1year.

I have the Ricors on my '12 FXDF and love them. The ride is soft and compliant but not bouncy. The really stick to the pavement and I ride fairly aggressively at times. I also ride loaded up for longer tour rides and they have been great.

Ricor 12.5 sport tune on mine for 2 1/2 years, no issues, no regrets.
