If you haven't started the project, you really should reconsider the Andrews TW37. It's a great cam and a perfect match for the 88".

I paid $250 for the cam install and $250 for the tune.

I ran the 26 with a stock motor and it was good. Put in 37's when I did the 95 build and this thing is a rocket ship. The 26 had more power on teh low end but the 37 leaves the 26"'s in teh dust with my set up. The 37's like to be revved high. It seems like 3200- red line is where all the power is and it only takes a fraction fo second to get to 3200 rpms.

What's the difference between stock cam chain tensioners, hydraulic cam chain and geardrive?

Stock tensioners are spring loaded and wear out on the drive chains. Hydraulic utilize hydraulic oil pressure instead of springs, and gear drives utilize gears instead of chains. .003" crank run out or less for gear drives. I have switched all mine to teh Hydraulic set up as I did not want to hassle with checking the crank run out and then order my cams. Gear drives will usually give a little more power as it is more of a direct drive system.

I got the hydraulic plate here to go in my new ride I just picked up. One day soon I'll drop it in.

Gotcha I've built hot rods up and down but this is my first mechanical venture with a bike so I'm doing the cam and tensioner/chain/gear swap
